Prices for Citroen’s new C5 X start at £27,790, with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain available.
New C5 X is a unique vehicle, combining all the modernity and appeal of an SUV, the elegance and status of an up-market saloon, and the versatility and practicality of an estate.
Citroen retailers are offering a choice of 1.2-litre 130PS and 180PS 1.6-litre PureTech petrol drivetrains. The C5 X introduces a new infotainment system featuring a 12-inch touchscreen, natural voice recognition and a customisable display.
Sense Plus trim is the entry-level of a three trim line-up and includes 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, part leather-effect seats, a 10-inch central touchscreen with sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera.
Range-topping Shine Plus versions add extra tinted quarter-panel windows at the rear, leather upholstery, electrically operated and heated front seats, acoustically insulated front and rear windows, a motorised tailgate and a 360-degree reversing camera.
The petrol hybrid derivatives of the C5 X come with a 7.4kW single-phase on-board charger, a mode 3 charging cable with a type 2 connector, as well as remote temperature pre-conditioning.
The car’s 12.4kWh battery can be charged in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Citroen will follow-up its flagship C5 X with the launch of a fully electric e-C4 X fastback family car in early 2023.
