Audi E-Tron
Audi’s e-tron was one of the first electric SUVs and Audi’s first all-electric production car. With all the latest technology and semi-autonomous drive features, it is quiet, comfortable and beautifully built. It has a claimed maximum range of 254 miles with rapid charging options. With it’s build quality, comfort and price, the e-tron could challenge even the biggest Electric vehicles sceptics.
Performance and Drive of the E-Tron
A successful electric car is renowned for its immediate acceleration and scintillating straight-line performance. The Audi e-tron is no exception, as it comes with quattro all-wheel drive as standard and 664Nm of torque. Overtaking is a breeze and it can nip into traffic gaps. The e-tron also impresses with its incredible refinement on the road. This is because Some EVs suffer from wind and road noise due to the lack of engine drone, but not the Audi. In addition to its comfort, the suspension system can be adjusted to a variety of settings and levels of suppleness. If you’re driving along in comfort mode, the air suspension does a really good job. Whereas once the e-tron changes into dynamic mode, the suspension becomes more noticeable and moves around more.
The Audi E-Tron is very quick. The e-Tron S version has 496bhp. It is able to dispatch the 0-62mph benchmark in 4.5 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 130mph. It certainly isn’t slow, that’s for sure. The 55 quattro version accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed limit of 124mph. The 50 quattro model with 309bhp, hits 60mph in 6.8 seconds and tops out at 118mph. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system keeps things in order and keeps the e-tron on course accelerating effortlessly time after time. A four-wheel drive vehicle like the e-tron uses two motors – one at each axle – instead of a single motor.
About the E-Tron
The stylish e-tron is instantly recognisable to be a family SUV. It fits well in between the Q5 and Q7 in terms of size. It is a beautifully built Audi, with its leather interior, polished plastic, and high-grade metal trim, the fully digital cockpit gives it a high-tech edge.
The Audi e-tron boasts a dual-screen infotainment system that complements the car’s familiar Virtual Cockpit dials. In addition to Audi’s Multimedia Navigation Plus (MMI), this model has a three-year subscription to Audi Connect online, a DAB radio, Bluetooth, and wireless charging for mobile phones. Charging points are included in the mapping software, so you can plan journeys around them. On a full battery you would expect 283 miles on the 89kWh pack but you’re more realistically bound to get about around 220 miles when driving.
The E- tron offers a spacious boot that can cater for the needs of a family. The 605 litre boot can be extended to 1,755 litre capacity when the back seats are down. However, it doesn’t stop there. There’s even a 60 litre space under the bonnet where the engine would usually sit. This space is most used to store charging cables.
